Reminder: Decoration Removal

As spring approaches, the decoration removal date is quickly drawing near at St. Mary’s Cemetery of Winona. All decorations, even those in stands or shepherd hooks, monument, crypt or niche vases, must be removed from the cemetery before Monday, April 7th, as disposal of remaining items will begin on this date. We are unable to store decorations for you, so please be sure to remove them if you do not want them disposed of. Decorations in stands, shepherd hooks, monument saddles, crypt, niche, and monument vases may be placed on or after Good Friday, April 18th.

Reminder that any new or replacement stands must be purchased in the cemetery office and installed by cemetery staff; any non-cemetery issued stands found will be removed and disposed of.  Stands found to be unstable, damaged or in deteriorated condition will be removed and disposed of at the discretion of cemetery staff.

Memorial Day decorations that are not in urns or on shepherd hooks may be placed on the ground beginning May 17th but must be removed by June 1st. Any Memorial Day decorations left on the ground outside of May 17th through June 1st will be disposed of by cemetery staff.

Urn Program

St. Mary’s Cemetery is again using a professional grower for our flower program. If you do not currently own a flower stand with a 14” clay urn, you may purchase the set filled with three red geraniums, two vinca vines and one spike or you may purchase a shepherds hook set which includes a fresh hanging basket filled with three red geraniums and two vinca vines. For existing customers, once payment is received, we will place flowers throughout the cemetery the week prior to Memorial Day. For your convenience, we will be accepting payments by check through the mail, Visa or Master Card payments by phone or by accessing our website at www.smcofwinona.org. Order forms are available for new customers upon request. Feel free to send an email to office@smcofwinona.org or call us at 507-452-2769 and we will be happy to send you a form to complete.
